I spoke with her expecting to tell her to follow me again and the only options available were to tell her to wait or to trade items or to leave as if she had already been following me.Īfter I got out of the dialogue though, confused that she was still considered to be following me, she just walked away. So I decided I would Console command her to my location and just move on from there.
Up until I was done with Miraak and was back in Solstheim did I understand that something wasn't really right. I went through the rest of the questline not really understanding what had happened but since the rest is done in the Black Books and no followers come with you there I ignored it. I tried not to think much of it and went through the dungeon as normal thinking she would be outside waiting for me when I got out but she wasn't there at all. I thought it may have been that she wasn't allowed in to Nchardak but was confused because my dog follower (in this case Sceolang) was able to follow me inside. The entire time before Serana had followed me as a follower normally does but from the moment I left Tel Mithryn and fast travelled to the quest location she wasn't there with me.
I've been going through the Dragonborn DLC lately to complete the questline and at one point you have to go with Neloth to the Dwarven ruins of Nchardak.
